DIRECTOR – Michael Rhodes

Michael-Rhodes-
Michael Rhodes was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and has been trained in all styles of dance at an early age. From the age of 13, he added Hip Hop to his repitoire and from then, there was no looking back. He has toured the world to places such as JAPAN and the CARRIBEAN, and has danced for such artists as LADY GAGA and JANET JACKSON.

Faculty member and long-time Janet Jackson choreographer, Gil Duldulao, was so impressed with 21 year old Canadian resident Mike Rhodes, that he offered him an opportunity of a lifetime. To everyone’s disbelief, Gil explained that his boss (none other than Janet herself) had given him the authorization to hire him on the spot.

Mike can be seen in the upcoming films "Percy Jackson And The Olympians" as well as Disney's "Camp Rock 2". He will also be shooting in the new dance motion film "Beat The World" choreographed by the infamous Luther Brown and Sho-Tyme.

Mike also owns his own dance company called Drop Dance Intensive. Drop Dance Intensive is one of Canada's newest and hottest dance workshop, working in collaboration with some of North America's top choreographers in the music industry today.

Michael wishes to continue his career as a working and professional dancer in the industry. His dance style is very unique and his ability to pick up different choreographers styles is amazing.  Mike is truly an extraordinary performer with potential of becoming one of the most sought after dancers in the U.S. entertainment industry.

Kupono” – Hawaii’s own!

kuponoHey it’s Kuponohi’ipoi “Kupono” Aweau.  I’m 23 years old and was born and raised in BEAUTIFUL Kailua, HI.  I didn’t start dancing until I was 16, that’s when I joined the AMAAAAAAAZING 24-VII Danceforce Studio.  There I was trained in Jazz Funk, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and everything else you could imagine.  At 24-VII I became a student and VERY close friend of SYTYCD Season 4 Mark Kanemura.  He played a major influence in my own personal dance style and was the very reason for me auditioning for Season 5 : )  24-VII Danceforce Studio is also where Cara Horibe from ABDC’s “Fanny Pack” and Janet Jackson’s BFF/Choreographer Gil Dildulao trained. After graduating from Kamehameha Schools in 2004, I became the Dance Captain and Wardrobe Supervisor for the Norwegian Cruise Lines “Pride of America” Cruise Ship.  There I traveled to several parts of Germany, the entire United States Coast as well as parts of Mexico.Shortly after working for NCL, I moved to Tokyo, Japan where I danced for Tokyo Disney Sea.  There I performed in a 5th Anniversary Special Event Show entitled “Precious Treasures of Agrabah”.  It was truly a magical place and probably one of the greatest times of my life in which I spent an entire year exploring and discovering Japan.Once I was finished with Tokyo Disney Sea, I moved back to Hawai’i to continue my training with 24-VII Danceforce.

After supporting Mark Kanemura during his time with SYTYCD Season 4, I made an executive decision to train and prepare myself for Season 5 auditions.  Thankfully I made it through the grueling and intense audition process and had become a part of SYTYCD Season 5 TOP 20.  While on the show, I was honored to work with such choreographers as Wade Robson, Mia Michaels, Sonya Tayeh, Tyce Diorio, Tabitha & Napoleon, Jean Marc & Franz, and was thrilled to make it into the TOP 10!!!!!!Once the show was finished, I got to tour with Season 5’s TOP 12 dancers all throughout the United States and parts of Canada.  We got to perform in nearly 40 cities and had an absolute blast!!!!!  With the show and tour being finished, I am now actually working with Cat Deeley’s (the Host of SYTYCD) Manager!!!!  This is extremely exciting and I have absolutely NO idea what the future has in store for me, but hopefully it will be bigger and better things in which I look forwarded to ; )

Brandon Bryant

Brandon BryantBrandon Bryant was born in Miami, Fl and has loved dance since the age of seven. Since elementary school he has always attended a performing art school. He was also a part of a funky young hip hop group to help kids stay active and off the streets, The Hip Hop Kid!  This group performed everywhere doing half time shows, tv shows, and even Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In high school Brandon was a part of the dance team and even started doing there hip hop choreography his sophomore year and they took the first place with the nation winning routine. Being a part of Aida in the opera, the AFL dance company, Odyssey Dance Theater, and Soul Escape Company were just some of the high lights that made an impact in his life but the one that was a life changing experience was being on So You Think You Can Dance season 5. Brandon was running up for season 5 and is now on a 40 state tour of the US with the top 12 dancers of the show, his plans are to move to LA and start his career, he has signed with an agency and plans to take anything that comes his way.

Randi Lynn Evans

Randi Lynn EvansRandi was born in Provo, UT and started dancing at the age of three.  She trained in jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and gymnastics.  While training at a competition studio, she had the opportunity to win many regional and national titles including NYCDA national outstanding dancer.  She toured as an assistant with L.A. Dance Magic and NYCDA.  After graduating from High School as the Dance Team Vice President, she moved to New York to pursue her dance career.

Randi was an ensemble dancer for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and featured performer for Royal Caribbean Cruises Lines.  While attending UVU, she auditioned for SYTYCD Season 5 and made the Top 20!  After making it to the top 10 on the show, she then continued on to do the National 40 city tour for SYTYCD.  She currently resides in Springville, UT with her husband of 3 1/2 years and her puppy Izzie.  Randi hopes to continue pursuing her career and share her love of dance for many years to come.
