Class Descriptions


Ballet & Tap Combination
  • Full hour of Ballet for ages 7 and older.
  • This class is a half hour of Ballet and a half hour of Tap. 
  • Learn basic coordination, flexibility, and rhythm.
  • This is a great way to get started in the dance community, 2 classes for the price of one.

Ballet
  • Full hour of Ballet for ages 7 and older.
  • Become more graceful, flexible and build self-confidence through the art of ballet.
  • Learn the latest techniques through barre work, floor combinations and dance routines.

Pointe
  • Classes available for ages 12 and older. 
  • Must have at least one year of ballet training.
  • Advancing techniques of balance, coordination and poise learning basic turns and footwork on pointe.

Tap
  • Full hour of Tap for ages 7 and older. 
  • Learn the latest rhythm techniques, styles and combinations to upbeat music

Jazz / Hip Hop
  • For ages 4 and up.
  • Half & Full hours offered of Jazz / Hip Hop
  • Learn the latest styles and techniques for turns and jumps.
  • Learn the basic street style hip hop moves. 
  • Fast upbeat music to let you get funky.
  • A great workout class for adults too.

Flamenco
  • Class available for 10 years and older.  
  • Learn the basics of using a skirt, castanettes and heel work with spanish flair.


Modern/Contemporary

with Andrea Gardener

  • Class available for 11 years and older with dance experience.  
  • This is a mix-level modern dance class that is rooted in classical foundations while also exploring musicality, expression and range of motion.  This is an opportunity to move your whole body, engage your center, understand posture and body mechanics plus explore weight exchange.  The underlying tone will ideally foster a love of dance and joy of pure movement. 


Hip Hop &

Break Dance

  • Start learning the basic break dance moves with the latest hip hop styles or take the break dance moves and take it to battle your way to the top!

 

 Modern

with Annia Turley

 
  • This modern dance class incorporate elements of  Martha Graham, Jose Limon, floor work, Capoeira (Brazilian martial art) and African Dance. We will explore the use of the torso contraction and release and the use of energy in relation to gravity , working with one's weight in terms of fall, rebound, recovery and suspension. 

 Pilates & Body Sculpt

with Yael Claussen

  • Pilates:  This mind-body class targets the abs, back, hips and glutes through a series of exercises designed to create a strong core and balanced body.
  • Body Sculpt:  This class is designed to create a long, lean, strong, flexible body. Natural body weight and resistance bands are used in controlled but challenging exercises to sculpt a beuatiful dancer's body.
